Some educational problems in the geographical informational technologies specific for the Republic of Moldavia

ABSTRACT. –Development and wide applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are revolutionizing higher education in geodesy and cartography. To meet the new requirements of social and economical development, traditional education programmes in this field have to reorient towards modern information technology(GIT). GIT concerns definition of geodetic reference systems, collecting, structuring and visualizing geospatial data and development and application of Geographic Information Systems. GIT has become a new discipline in education, and it includes classical subjects such as geodesy, surveying, photogrammetry, cartography, remote sensing and cadastre surveying, all these using computer technology.
